Darren Faill made it to Barcelona for Maggie's

CONGRATULATIONS D, I'm so full of admiration, I feel like bursting!

Have a well-earned rest before you make your way back.

Maggie's T-shirt opens doors

When I was down at Granton Harbour on Sunday a girl came up to speak to me becasue she recognised the Maggie's T-Shirt I had on.  Turned out we had met before in Maggie's as she is a part-time volunteer and we had previously talked non-stop about cycling!

Thanks Dorothy for your support, it was lovely meeting you again.

Planning Santiago
I am at the planning stage.  Planning how to get there, which route I will take, where to stay,
how many kms. per day, what will I take, etc.
I've joined an online forum for Cycling
to Santiago. The "pilgrims" there have so much information. There is even a thread about when people are going
and asking if anyone else wants to cycle with them.
It's also a good way for me to record everything.  A great checklist! I've started to cycle more intensly
to get my fitness levels up but decided to start a spinning class from week after next more for the anaerobic /aerobic exercise
to get me fit enough to cycle the 200kms I intend to cover.

Trying out new cleated Pedals
I've just had fitted my new pedals - crankbrothers CANDY xc / all mountain pedal 3 .  As this is my first attempt at cycling with cleats I was pretty nervous to try them out with my beautiful Shimano SPD M40's shoes.  All I thought about was "wait 'till you get up these mountains in Spain.  It'll be much easier! ".  After a few attempts at trying to click the left foot in I succeeded.  There is a bit of a knack to it and I'm sure it will come naturally sometime.  I did remember to twist my ankle to free myself from them though but it was easy with no traffic and practising in my buildings integral car park - no embarrassment if I fall off here! :-)
